Canberra WYD Celebrations Presented as a "Gift to the City of Canberra"

1 July 2008 9AM at the Legislative Assembly, the Canberra World Youth Day team, together with Archbishop Mark Coleridge, will introduce Brumbies and Raiders players as official Ambassadors for the World Youth Day celebrations.

Also at the reception, the Chief Minister's office will be presented with the WYD flag that will be raised around Canberra next week at the launch of the World Youth Day celebrations in Canberra (9-14 July 2008) as an acknowledgement of the ACT government's support for the event.

As a Canberra World Youth Day Ambassador, the Brumbies and Raiders players will be bringing a message of hope for young Canberrans. With so many of Canberra's youth looking up to them as role models, they will be reaching out to thousands of our young people, letting our local youth know that is OK to search for hope, meaning and purpose and to be in touch with the spiritual side of their lives.
